SOME NEWS & COOL TINGS>
The 6th Edition of ScentXplore, the International Niche Perfume Convention, is coming to Chelsea December 5-7! Brands can register now, public registration should be opening soon.
Did you catch the perfume plot twist in Netflix’s RIPLEY?! A purchase of Aqua Decolonia de Ugo Stefani from Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella, the Italian perfume house that can trace back its roots to 1221(!) and is often cited around the allure of the great Catherine de’ Medici, is bought at a very pivotal point in the series. FYI: there are two GORGEOUS stores of this beautiful brand in NYC!
Bella Hadid joins the looooong list of celebrity-founded fragrance and beauty brands with her new fragrance line, Orebella. While I love my gworl Bella so very much—I think she’s missing the mark with the “hydrating, essential oil-based, alcohol-free, need to shake to activate, moisturizing” conundrum. Why must we force oil/water-based formulas to spray? You know that’s what perfume oils are for, right?
We went to the Thin Wild Mercury pop-up at Esqueleto NY for the launch of their “New York Collection” recently. We sampled 34 Bohemian Cafes, Girl of the Year, Chelsea Staircase, & Sheep Meadow. It was so amazing meeting Cathleen & Anthony—not only are they an incredible husband/wife business duo, but they are also some of the sweetest, warmest, and down-to-earth people you will ever meet. We spoke to them for hours and they did not tire for a bit.
