NEWS & ‘FUME TALKS:
Did you catch the very first profile and interview we did with Chana Goodman of Parfums Obim in our new series, Beyond the Bottle? Stay tuned—we have another special one coming soon!
Allure is talking about Fragrance Swaps too! They plugged in Substack’s very own
and the recent frag swap she hosted. They also smelled $27,325 worth of fragrances and talked about 2025 fragrance trends with a bunch of New Yorkers.
SIDIA x Don Angie: Tomato sauce-inspired candles? This collab between SIDIA and one of NYC’s favorite Italian-American restaurants is a quirky addition to their lineup.
Commodity has a 50% off sale. Commodity’s gorgeous new Crosby Street store is a must-visit—high ceilings, black panels, and a hidden staircase. They have taken their Scent Space concept and translated it into different sections based on the fragrance’s projection: Personal, Expressive, or Bold. Don’t miss the BTS videos on their site and say hi to their amazing manager, Bryson <3
Naxos Apothecary has 30% off. I’m obsessed with Kalados EDP—imagine a “purple cherry” scent with notes of black cherry, juniper berry, dark violet, leather, and bitter almond. Creamy and irresistible dark fruits. Visit their Elizabeth Street store to sniff it for yourself.
Something Wicked is in the Air...
When I first saw the Wicked x LUSH collection, I was excited. I love LUSH (especially rose jam) and can’t resist a fun, visually stunning collab. But let’s be honest—the sheer volume of Wicked tie-ins have been a lot. From Stanley Cups to Crocs, there’s a whopping 70 collabs!
What I was waiting for, though, was a fragrance one. Imagine a pink or green-inspired flanker of Ariana Grande’s Cloud. Alas, I have been waiting in vain.
On the brighter side, there is a home fragrance collab with VOLUSPA, featuring candles, reed diffusers, and mini tin candles. It’s kind of cute. I’m a sucker for emerald green so slap that color on literally anything, and I’m sold.
Glinda’s Perfectly Pink Yuzu is a bright citrus-fruity blend, with sparkling notes of yuzu, sea salt, candied flowers, and creamy vanilla bubbles. Elphaba’s Bewitching Banyan Forest offers a warm, spiced profile, featuring the earthy allure of banyan tree branches, phosphorescent woods, and luminous amber light.
If you’re heading to see the movie, here are a few perfumes to help you channel your inner witch.
For Glinda~ The Good Witch
Sparkling, sweet, and magical, Glinda’s scents would exude light and positivity, with a touch of glamour.
Ariana Grande Cloud (duh) – Soft and sweet with a dreamy blend of whipped cream, lavender, and coconut, perfect for effervescent touch.
Parfums de Marly Delina – A rosy, fruity floral with notes of lychee, rhubarb, and Turkish rose that feels pink and princess-like.
Arquiste Venice Rococo – A coquettish, powdery floral with dusty iris, black violet accord, orris root, balanced by blush rose and chamomile. Elegant and radiant.
Juliette Has a Gun Pear Inc. – Light, fruity, and cheerful, with notes of green pear and musk for a fresh and modern vibe.
For Elphaba~ The Wicked Witch
Mysterious, bold, and unapologetic, Elphaba’s fragrances would be dark, earthy, and powerful with a green, woody twist.
Serge Lutens Chêne – Deep and foresty with smoky wood, leather, and rum—this one is pure witchy energy.
Arquiste Misfit – A rebellious patchouli blend with ambrette, lavender, and balsamic warmth. Bold and unconventional.
DS & Durga Mississippi Medicine – A dark, woody incense fragrance with hints of smoke and herbs, perfect for a mysterious and ancient presence.
Dior Addict (what I’m wearing) – An intense, intoxicating floral with notes of jasmine, orange blossom, and bourbon vanilla—exuding dark power.
That’s all for today—have a happy thanksgiving, friends!
x
Nadia
