Hi friends! Nadia here 🙂 I’ve been MIA for a bit as life has gotten the best of me.
Today’s newsletter is short n sweet, and covers fragrance news, upcoming events—especially a fun film screening paired with a Halloween fragrance launch, cool collabs, and the rise of Smell-o-Vision with A24’s new horror flick.
SOTD: French Poetry by St. Rose ($185)

I’ve been dreaming of this perfume since I first caught its scent at Stéle three months ago and two weeks ago, I finally decided to bring it home. French Poetry feels like a cozy, familiar embrace—a scent that wraps you up like a cardigan on a crisp fall morning, favorite book in hand. It opens with soft neroli and bergamot, then deepens with cedarwood and sandalwood, evoking a gentle warmth. Vanilla and benzoin linger, subtle but comforting. Though I wish it lasted longer, I find myself reapplying just to experience its quiet beauty again. The color is feminine and inviting; French Poetry perfectly captures something deeply comforting and nostalgic—it truly brings a bit of poetry to everyday life.
Pairing French Poetry with a classic like Swann's Way by Marcel Proust feels just right. Proust’s sensory storytelling mirrors the fragrance’s warm, amber and floral notes, creating a scent experience akin to a madeleine moment (and one more here). Add in St. Rose’s playlist, and you have the ultimate setup for a poetic, sensory escape. 🎧

REEL SCENTS: SENSORY CINEMA

A24’s horror film Heretic is turning movie night into a full sensory experience. Thanks to Brooklyn’s powerhouse Joya Studio, scratch-and-sniff cards at Alamo Drafthouse on October 30 will let fans catch a whiff of blueberry pie as the story unfolds. Known for genre-inspired candles for films like Hereditary and Midsommar, Joya’s partnership elevates cinematic immersion, giving horror fans an unforgettable sensory experience. Tickets are most likely sold out so if you can’t make it — look out for Heretic nationwide on November 8.
This trend taps into a wave of scent-focused screenings, like recent showings of Female Trouble and Nosferatu, which paired unique scents with scenes to pull audiences deeper into the action. As event producer Tammy Burnstock notes, scent heightens storytelling, making moments more vivid and emotionally resonant. It’s like instant memory recall, transforming moviegoing from a visual feast to a multi-sensory experience that stays with you long after the credits roll.

That’s all, friends! Stay smelling creepy and have a great weekend!
